The Theban–Spartan War of 378–362 BC was a series of military conflicts fought between Sparta and Thebes for rule over Greece. Thaddeus a General of the Theban army knew of Sparta’s attempts at an invasion in Thebes this he had planned his own attack against The Lord Kratos and his armies Of Sparta. He had also been in talks with Athens in order to form an alliance with them to help in his efforts to force an attack and take the Spartan God. Instead Thaddeus was betrayed by the Athenian General Chabrias At the advance of Thaddeus’s forces, instead of giving the order to charge, Chabrias famously ordered his men at ease with his spear remaining pointing upwards instead of towards the enemy, and the shield leaning against the left knee instead of being hoisted against the shoulder. The command was followed immediately and without question by the armies under his command, the elite Sacred Band of Thebes under the command of Thaddeus was then taken by the Spartan General and his men. This "show of contempt" stopped the advancing Thebian forces, and shortly afterwards Thaddeus was captured along with several other high ranking officers of his small Thebian Army. After many months as Prisoner Thaddeus had gained the Lords favor and had been released into the custody of King Lancelot Of Camelot. Soon he became the Kings most trusted Knight and head of His armies and protector of The Pendragon Family.
