The Mark of A Furyan (Full Part) Category: Uncategorized
(Roleplayed with Elpis)
As Ryan lay sleeping in his crib he was dreaming but not of colorful
shapes or faces of his family but a lady with braids in her hair. She
was beautiful and she held her hand out for Ryan on placed it on his
shoulder "This mark carries the anger of an entire race... but it′s
going to hurt." she spoke and Ryan′s eyes fluttered back and forth
sleeping in his crib he felt much to hot as flashes of light emitted
from his crib pouring around the nursery he didn′t cry out until he
noticed all the flashes of people laying bloody on the floor not
understanding any of it.
Soon the pain set in and he cried out
and his cry not of one of hunger of or being wet but of pain radaiting
through his entire little body. Pain and deep sorrow washed through him
as he watched the woman whom held a hand to his shoulder. As he woke up
his eyes still held large tears and he looked around in his crib as
light was glowing from his shoulder where the hand mark Shirah gave him.
Elpis had the babies resting in their crib, while she was
trying to tend to some of the business of Lyonesse. Lately she had been
torn between living in Hy-Brasil and the workload that came along with
tending to the ever growing Library. She would desperately need more
librarians to help her deal with the amount to tasks and relics that
flodded in each day. She heard Ryan′s cries and felt something was awry.
The boy usually just let out short cries of discomfort, but these cries
were painful and full of signs of distress. She slammed a book shut and
tossed it onto her desk, then hurried to her child. Big tears rolled
down the soft, plumb litte cheeks.
Ryan, her otherwise happy
little son, looked scared and confused. His little body shaking from
sobs and pain. She lifted him up and craddled him in her arms, then she
saw the mark on his shoulder. It was glowing and hot. Elpis tried her
best in soothing her son with a little sing song and rocking him in her
arms. But she felt helpless. She needed to ask Riddick and she would
need to search for scriptures in the library. She was certain there was
something about this mark and what came along with it in the library.
After all, part of the library had been built by Furyans.
Ryan
still cried against his mother′s chest resting his head against her
shoulder his eyes closed and he saw the woman who gave him the mark
again she was smiling and he sniffled opening his eyes to look up at his
mother as he cuddled into her still crying softly.
Elpis held
the little, warm body closer to her chest and ran her hand over the
soft, little head to comfort her son. His bright blue eyes looked up at
her as if she would know the answer, but she was lost for the moment.
All she wanted was to soothe her son′s discomfort. So she softly sang to
him, like her mother had done for her whenever she was sad or crying.
It was a soft, soothing tune and she rocked him gently. A skill like her
mother′s to soothe pain and to calm people would have come in handy
right now, but she knew she was lacking such a talent. All she could
rely on was that the song and her touch alone would help Ryan relax.
Ryan
sniffled a few more times but he was listening to the song his mother
sang his eyes drifted close once more and the woman appeared once more
to him and he shuttered as if he was cold but his little body went limp
as he fell into a deep sleep this time one much more peaceful thanks to
the soothing voice of his mother and the warm smile coming from Shirah
in his dreams.
Somehow the song her mother had taught her did
the trick. Ryan seemed to relax. Elpis watched him and held him close
even when his little body relaxed and his breathing became deep again.
His eyes fluttered under his lids in a dream, but otherwise he seemed
content and happy, with even a smile on his little face. Elpis sighed
deeply and slowly relaxed herself. The uncomfort and pain of her child
had made her tense. Now he seemed at peace and she relaxed too, sitting
down in the rocking chair by the window to hold Ryan a little longer.
