A bit of Normal for Lady Veronica Category: Uncategorized
Loki had gotten everything ready while Lady Veronica was out with his mother. He has asked his mother to take her out this afternoon so he could surprise her. When the people arrived late with the tree he yelled at them until Brenda came into view and then his tone got lower which seemed to scare the worker even more. Running late because of the incompatible worker he snapped his fingers and the tree was strung with lights. Brenda cheered for the lights and Loki's lips pulled into a smile at the little girl as the door opened and his eyes moved to Lady Veronica. "Surprise." he spoke and Brenda giggled walking over to her mother.
Veronica watched them with clearly adoring eyes and when Brenda wiggled free to make sure her mother saw her hard work Veronica gave it her full attention lavishing praise on her for it. And then she scooped another from the boxes that lay around on the floor, so Brenda could repeat her hard work before her own eyes sought out Lokis again, catching the light on her ring making her heart pound in her chest and seeing him there making it all the sweeter.
Loki took the gold ornament and handed it to Brenda and he walked over to the tree and Brenda studied the branches long and hard before she spotted the perfect spot for her and she reached out to place it on the tree and Loki pressed a kiss to her cheek. "Perfect." Brenda repeated the words and she wiggled from his hold to go to her mother to make sure she could see the gold on the tree.
Veronicas smile could not be suppressed, not when Loki pushed the ring onto her finger, pressing a kiss there that was warm and sent off a flurry of butterflies in the pit of her stomach. And that smile, already so bright only got better when he scooped up Brenda so that she could see what her parents were up to. She pressed a kiss to her daughters plump cheek, eyes still on Loki as she spoke to the pair of them, "The very best surprise ive ever had." and holding the ornament she now valued above any other she could possibly she held it up to Brenda, "I Think you shuld hang this on the tree, with daddys help of course," she added so Brenda could feel tall and helpful while she got to do something she never had before, so she felt more included on this perfect day.
Loki chuckled when she moved her hand into his view. "Yes of course how silly of me." he spoke amused and he moved to pluck the ring from the half Ornament and he waved a hand so it was the full golden ornament once more and his fingers moved to slip the ring on her finger and he brought her ring finger to his lips and he smiled eyes on hers as he pressed a kiss to it. Brenda not to be forgotten for long she tugged on her mother's skirts. "I see. I see!" she spoke and Loki chuckled and he moved to lift her up into his arms so she could see her mother's ring. "Pretty." Brenda spoke and Loki looked into his bride to be eyes. "I couldn't agree more."
When Loki stood before her there was no hesitation in clinging to him, her lips warm and soft against his as he kissed her. His whispered promise had her heart thumping in her chest again and when she pulled back for a breath she beamed up at him, fingertip trailing along is jaw again as she told him, "I love you too, i always have." A flush on her cheeks she then held up her hand so that he could slid the ring into place where it wouldn't leave ever again.
Loki felt his heart swell in his chest when she said yes and he moved up from his knee to cradle her face in his hands and he leaned down to press his lips against hers gently of course he was always so gentle with her and he pulled back to whisper against her lips. "I love you Veronica. Forever and Always." he promised before his lips met hers once more.
Veronica was smiling as Loki took Brenda from her hold and handed her an ornate ornament she looked over before glancing at him setting down Brenda with her sister. She watched him come back over figuring he would help her start stringing ornaments up so she was confused when he knelt down before her. She watched him, her eyes warm if confused as he spoke. When he said Love, which he so rarely did she brushed a finger absently along his jaw, her other hand still holding the Ornament. And when he showed her with his hand moving over that hand the ring her heart started to throb in her chest, looking from it to him as she smiled again. She didn't pause or hesitate to speak she spoke instantly, a laugh coloring her words, "Yes, yes of course i will."
Loki's lips pulled into a smile as Lady Veronica spoke of wanting him just as much as he wanted her and he moved to lean over to pick up a golden ornament. "I was really hoping you said that." he told her truthfully and he moved to hand Lady Veronica the ornament and he took Brenda pressing a kiss to her head and setting her beside her sister and he gave her the golden garland to keep her busy for a second. Loki was taller then Veronica so he moved to take one knee in front of her. "I have been thinking about this for a very long time Lady Veronica. I love you so much as you know I don't say it often but I do. I know being with me has been difficult and not always easy. But you showed me it is okay to open up my heart to you and our girls. I feel like a different man when I am around you and I strive to be a better for you." his hand moved over the golden ornament in her hand he had given her and a ring appeared. "Lady Veronica would you do me the pleasure of becoming my Queen and my partner in life?" he asked his eyes on hers now.
Veronica watched him evenly for a moment confused by how he could not see she always had the same fears, that one day he would tire of her fragility and send her away again. But she didnt want to say that he might only frown deeper dwelling in their past. "Resign yourself to being wanted by me for the rest of my life," she told him with a smile before she added as Brenda lifted her head to watch them, "But next year our helped will still be to small to be of much tree use... unless we just want baby ornaments but i cant imagine them staying still that long," she teased though Aslaug would be old enough then to help them in some ways which would be nice.
Loki was still smiling as she kissed his cheek and he nodded his head. "Just think next year we will have more helpers to help us decorate the tree." he chuckled and his eyes looked to Lady Veronica a serious look on his face. "Of course if you don't tire of me that is." he spoke with a hint of sadness. Over the course of time of them knowing each other it was no secret he couldn't live without her by his side.
Veronica beamed at him as he talked about decorating a tree, something she had always loved when she was little. She walked closer to him, Brendas head on her shoulder and she watched his expression go from cloudy to brighter. She pushed up on her toes and pressed a kiss to his cheek before she dropped back on her heels. "I love it, and you even dressed the girls to match the occasion. I think it will be one of those evenings to remember for us and them," she told him squeezing his forearm gently.
Loki smiled at Veronica and he waved a hand to the boxes of things to put on the tree. "Well I figured we could put up a tree. I know mortals love doing it and well families here in Asgard do as well." he spoke looking at the tree. "I made sure we got a good one although they where late delivering it." he frowned his eyes squinted as he remembered the dumbass who didn't have a clue but his face softened as he looked at Veronica once more.
When Veronica had been invited out with Frigg for the afternoon, without the girls it had been a slight surprise but one she welcomed. She got on well with Lokis mother, with most of his family in truth but the men were so much more intimidating it was easier to relate to the women and children more.So she had enjoyed herself and when she returned home she could heard Brenda cheering through the door. It made her smile before she opened it ti let herself in and when she did she was greeted with the most adorable is surprising scene. "I am so surprised," she said smiling over at Loki as she leaned to scoop up Brenda from the floor. Pressing a kiss to her head she took in her attire grinning, "I dont think theres ever been a better surprise ever," and though she spoke to Brenda her gleaming eyes were on Loki again.
