Losing Arkin Category: Uncategorized
| | Amora The Enchantress {Queen Of Asgard} {Wife Of Thor} {Yggdrasil Kingdom} | X | Amoras plans for her family were simple. She wanted her daughters to stay as close a possible and to her sons credit they didn’t push returning to their own homes at night when she asked that everyone stay there. It meant they had a full wing again but that’s the way Amora preferred it. With so many not under the same massive palace roof she wanted the ones who remained as close as possible. Arriving back in their home, safe from the snow that fell Amora watched as Alva ran to the glass balcony doors looking out. Asa and Raknar went to tuck their children in for a nap and the others decided on talking down the hall away from Amoras ears. She sat by the fire, Sassa asleep in her swing and Arkin watching her with large blue eyes. “Everything will be ok, you’ll see everyone will be home soon,” she assured the boy who couldn’t possibly understand her words, but her tone remained soothing, she had been firm in her resolve none would see her worry.
That facade started to crack though when a soft blue hue wrapped around the bundle she held swaddled in her arms, and she watched, felt the weight of Arkins aging against her knees before he was gone in a bright gold flash. There was this strangled panicked cry from her lips and her guards Ubbi and Otto were the first to rush in. Amora looked over to see Sassa still sleeping happily and she knew instantly what had happened. Thor had saved Arkin from Svens grasps the last time he tried to push into the city and now Sven was returning the favor.
“I want the fastest rider still within the city limits. Bring him or her here now. I need to send word to Thor before the troops are out of range and sending someone would put them in danger.” Otto went to order the rider be brought and Amora wiped at her cheeks as Harr and his sister peeked into the room, “Keep everyone in their rooms, for now. And ill be back to explain everything soon.” Alva being the only one to see Amora crying was back to clinging to her skirts and she scooped the little girl up before she added to Herdis, “Actually, I want you to do something for me. Go into my back office and get the protection jewels I told Asa about. All of you hide a stone on your persons, find cords to make bracelets for the babies.” Herdis nodded her head as Alva buried hers into her mothers shoulder.
A rider that came was given a short message, charmed to only be opened by her husband or one of their sons. On it was simply one line, a warning, and a plea so that they knew Arkin was in danger and they should expect to see him, “Arkin was aged and Sven has him.” She didn't know in what condition Sven would have their son, as prisoner or leader but if Thor didn't know then there was no way to ensure his protection though she hoped that he didn't need it, and would come home without their needing to drag him.
Amora watched the dusting of snow the rider kicked up from the balcony, as her children started dinner. The sky had fallen dark, a steely gray dipping into a midnight blue. She rubbed at her arms for warmth, sending prayers to the ancient gods with names long forgotten and spirits that might take some pleasure in war or a vested interest in Asgard and her prevailing in the glory Odin and now his Son had ensured the golden city. The loss or prevailing of this war would mean the loss or prevailing of her family, and such a thought made Amora feel sick with a worry she masked as she went inside shaking snow from her golden hair to join her children and try to put their worry at ease. |
