Fairy War With The Humans Category: Uncategorized
*The war between the fairies and the humans had been going on for months, and although Oberon wanted peace, it was clear to him that the war would not be over any time soon. The Elder was the fairy’s equivalent of a king, and ultimately, what he wanted was the survival of the fairy race. Not all humans were bad. Some believed in and respected fairies. But for the rest? They didn’t believe in fairies, so whenever they learned that fairies did exist, they would hunt said fairies, and kill them to study them, often framing them like insects and hanging them on some wall, or they kidnapped said fairy to get rich off of the discovery.
Oberon had just learned a moment ago that his daughter had been kidnapped. After hearing this news he sent his falcon Haldir to go tell his son Puck about it as well as Puck’s husband Bealdwine. Bealdwine told his colorful bird Locks about this, saying that they needed someone who was good at picking locks to free the princess. The bird had an obsession with locking and unlocking things since he was a baby bird, and as the bird grew up he had become pretty much the best lock picker in the kingdom.
Haldir flew off to go tell Puck, Bealdwine, and Locks as soon as possible, and on the way he flew over the army, his loud falcon voice being heard by all. This was his way of alerting the army that the Elder needed their attention. The army stood up immediately and gave their attention to Oberon. Oberon took Radu’s hand because he needed the support of the man he loved, and had tears running down his eyes. His voice was thick with emotion as he spoke.*
My people! There is no time for a battle speech this morning. Arm yourselves with whatever weapons you may need but do it as quickly as possible. My daughter has been kidnapped.
*All the fairies moved quickly, and in a moment they were ready to leave. A new anger filled their hearts. First their queen had been murdered, which threatened their very existence because now the humans knew about them and had been looking for more of them ever since, proving to be a danger to all fairies, and now their princess had been kidnapped. As they gathered what few things they needed and started flying off, Oberon turned to Radu.*
I’m going to the front of the army, in front of everyone else. But I love you so much and the front is more dangerous than the center and the back, so I won’t be upset if you don’t want to be in the front. Do you want to go to the front with me?
