Revan shook his head with a very exhadurated face palm. "Here I am trying to train you all to be the next great warriors of our kingdom and Bain takes you out with an act of clumsiness".
Bain was late for class but was determined to get there before he got into too much trouble. Hearing someone mention running he burst into the class... And ran right into Moira and Ganymera!
Crossing her eyes at her cousin she grinned before she caught Revans question. "Does running count? I mean anyone can technically run... but if you wanna be fast or go far thats takes ability so maybe not... How about planning an attack, all that thinking like a chess game a couple moves ahead?" Her dark head was cocked to one side, watching him curiously.
Mera had spaced a little when she heard Moira speak out beside her and she turned her head to listen to her and she moved her head back to Revan when he spoke and she nodded her head back and forth. "Makes sense." she whispered loudly with a giggle.
Revan smiled nodding and pointed to Moira "perfect. Now technically it goes without saying that your brain controls movement but in combat there is far more than that to consider. Your body no matter how toned or athletic, no matter how gifted or powerful dependent on your species is still only a weapon. No more than a rock was to ancient humans. Had they not the understanding as to how it could be used it would be meaningless. So today I want you to learn about that. Who can tell me something they can do in a fight, NOT based on their physical abilities but something they thought up themselves."
Mo looked over at the others, shrugging before she spoke up, "I was gonna go obvious and say muscles, but scratch that, ill say the brain, but that could be cheating as its pretty important as a standard."
Once he was comfortable that they were each ready he wrapped up "okay then everyone so let's see. Who thinks they can tell me the most important part of the body in a fight?" He paced back and forth looking at how each of them stood, their posture and attitude.
Moira flashed her brother a grin as she stretched her arms across her chest and then over her head, murmuring to him, "I like to make an entrance?" Rolling her shoulders she reached down, grabbing her calves to hold as the teacher started to talk them through what they would be trying. Of the three she had the least training. Ryan had taught her the things he taught himself but she hadn't been allowed any real training so she only had what he had been able to impart on her. The other two had some skills and experience so she focused now on every word. replicating every motion that Revan showed to them.
Ryan rolled his eyes behind his goggles when he noticed his twin Moira showing up late trying to sneak in. "Always late to class." he muttered to her before Revan lead them in the exercises which where pretty easy for Ryan but he followed along closely taking it serious.
With the three students arrived Revan decided to get underway. "Moira, Ryan and Mera. Thank you for attending. Let me introduce myself officially. My name is Revan and the Queen has asked me to lead on teaching combat to those here in our kingdom. I know each of you have your own experiences but I want you to try and start fresh". Taking point he began leading through a number of exercises and warm ups for them to follow.
Mo hadn't really intended to be late but she also wasn't punctual in general given she tried to find ways around any and all lessons or classes. But this was one she actually wanted to go to so she slid into the room, wincing because there wasn't a massive cover of chatter as she had been hoping for. Chewing on her lip she watched the instructor talking to her brother as she slid along the back wall as if she had been there the entire time.
Ryan looked towards Reven and he nodded his head. "Well my dad taught me basics when I was younger but he got busy and I used some books in the library to train myself. Being sucked in books not fun if you don't know how to get out of them." he chuckled but he pointed to his bag. "I mostly deal with swords but I been helping my little sister with hand to hand combat so she knows how to defend herself." he whispered the last part not knowing if his mother could hear him or not.
Revan noticed the newcomer "welcome to the class Ryan. I'm glad you could make it". Revan gestured him to come in further "So Ryan tell me, what combat experience do you have? Mera I know I have seen fight several times but you I need the know about".
Ryan had just pulled the doors open fixing his googles on his eyes to make sure to not let any light leak through. He spotted his mother and waved to her before he noticed Revan with Mera about warm ups and he chuckled before his face went it's normal blank stare. His hands behind his back he waited on the side to be instructed on what to do.
Revan waved away her comments "no that's just fine. Eventually we will be working in the theory side of things but for now I just want to see what level everyone is up to. Until the others arrive let's start with you. I'd suggest you do some stretches first though. Lesson one, always warm up before exercise".
