The Hideous Realm

(Based on a nightmare I recently had, and needless to say it scared me pretty badly.)
Inside a cold dark house, one ancient and mysterious. Not knowing why I am there, or how to escape. An evil presence surrounds this place, devoid of light. Frozen as if paralyzed, I cannot move, While something on the outside, closes in. It's just beyond reach, unseen by my eyes, Yet I hear the door locks slowly giving way, And know that what's forcing them open, Is not human, but an unknown terrible entity. Returning to claim another lost wayward soul. And just as the door is finally opened, Screaming in horror, I awaken from my nightmare.
