(About the Fetterman Massacre which happened on December 21, 1866, but this time the Native Americans actually won the war and not just the battle.)

Eighty one men sent out to eventually die.
Riding to their deaths after chasing an enemy,
Whose numbers were much greater than they thought.
But the sudden ambush came much too late,
For the soldiers to escape with their lives,
As two thousand bold and determined warriors,
Who desired brutal retribution with no quarter given,
Attacked the much smaller unit on this bitterly cold day.
Yet the doomed men fought with great resolution,
Showing much ferocity in their quest for survival.
But after inflicting many casualties on the surprised foe,
All were slain on the battlefield then horribly mutilated,
As the victorious but angry warriors used knives and spears,
To carve apart and dismember the many deceased men.
Whose lives were no doubt sacrificed in vain,
As an already lost war soon forced the evacuation,
Of the remaining soldiers in the surrounding area.
While their forts were torched then burned asunder,
By an enemy whose mighty screams of utter triumph,
Told the entire story of what the final result had been.
