My personal way of roleplay
Category: Uncategorized

This post is not necessarily a rant, but in a way it is. It is just to inform those who see it.

I've been here for a long time (in terms of roleplaying). I used to have such enthusiasm and would join groups, alter my character to be part of a family and such, but I don't do that anymore.

My experiences in the past with it was let down, after let down, after let down, etc. You get the idea. I won't go into detail because that part is irrelevant.

To me how I roleplay and do things now is that I come on, and focus on the stories I have going on. I reply back when the muse hits, and do some ooc talking or further discussion of ideas and such for the story between myself and the other participant.

It's all good if you're having fun joining families or groups and such, but my experiences have just made me kind of detach myself from that aspect of roleplaying. I don't mind taking up connections and being something to someone's character, I will do that if I have the time and I know I can write that role/connection. But joining groups or families now, only furthers the social anxiety I have (having to explain how I do things, my stance on how I see roleplay, everything).

I respect and appreciate that most of you still are able to have fun in character commenting statuses or making in character posts and etc. I personally can't do that anymore, and I hope you can respect that. I will take up the roles you have ideas for, but in regards to the other half of roleplaying, I don't see myself doing that anymore. I see roleplay too differently, and if that is a break it point for you (if we have some semblance of friendship) then I'm sorry you're letting one thing keep us from talking and being friends, but it's your choice.

I'm here to befriend you, write stories with you, form connections and become roles and such for you. I don't mind sharing aspects of my real life with you. It's how I choose to see this hobby. I understand for some they see it different and that's fine. But like I said, letting one thing keep you from making friends, that seems a bit well there's words for that which I won't say. I'm not one to talk ill of people.

I hope this blog post was informative to the curious at how I see and do things. In the event that it doesn't mold well with how you do things, then it's your choice to do what you want. All I'm trying to do is be a friend, first and foremost and write with you. That to me is roleplaying.
