Patrick had just come back from checking on a patient of his. He walked up to the nurse's desk when he heard the elevator. He turned around to see the doors open.
Jason felt Monica as she patted his back and smiled. He watched Emily as she left then turned to Monica and shook his head. “I don’t mind at all. You’re right. I didn’t want to be asked all those questions.” He chuckled softly. “You know me so well, Mom.” He gave her a soft smile.
Monica watched, as Elizabeth went to find, Patrick.
She gently put her hand on Jason's back, and patted it.
"We just have to wait, and see what Patrick tells us. Emily, why don't you go and call, Nikolas. I'm sure, he's going to want to know what's happening." They watched as Emily left. She, then looked at, Jason.
"I hope, you don't mind, that I sent her off. I didn't think, you wanted to be asked the endless questions between those two." She, looked at him, and grinned.
Jason saw Emily and Elizabeth and smiled. "Hi." He hugged them. "I brought Alexis in to get checked out. Her wrist has been bothering her. Like I was telling Mom, it happened two weeks ago. She thought she twisted it by holding one of the kids. She kept putting ice on it but the pain just continued to get worse. Then before, when we were at the house. We were sitting by the table just talking and I went to grab her hand gently like I always do. The way she winced in pain. Told her maybe we should go get it checked out. Patrick is in the exam room with her now."
As they were about to leave she stopped when she saw Monica, and Jason. She, then went over to them. "Mom, Jason. Hi. This is a nice surprise. Did you come, to buy your favorite doctor and nurse lunch." She giggled, and hugged Monica. She then went to hug Jason, and stopped, when she saw how upset he was.
"Jason. What's wrong. Did something happen." She, looked at him concerned.
Jason felt Monica's hug and hugged her back a little bit tighter. He nodded his head. "There is no one I trust more than Patrick." He looked at her. "It happened about two weeks ago. Alexis just started going on about her wrist bothering her. She thought maybe she twisted it somehow while holding one of the kids." He sighed. "Then, we were at the house just sitting and talking. I grabbed her hand gently like I always do and the way she winced in pain. She put ice on it but the pain still hasn't gone away. That's when I suggested she come here to get it checked out. Mom, I've never seen her in this much pain before."
"Bone density test." She, looked at him. "Patrick. You're beginning to scare, me. Isn't that test, for older people. I have babies, to take care of." She, looked at him nervously."
Patrick wrote everything down and sighed. “From everything you’re telling me. I think there might be more to it. However, I want to take a few tests including a bone density test.”
"It's broken. But, I don't remember, how it happened." She, looked at him, and sighed. "A week or so, Patrick. I woke up one morning. And, it was killing me. I kept, putting ice, on it."
Patrick nodded his head. “Let’s go and check it out.” He looked at Monica. “As soon as I finish with Alexis, we will go to lunch like I promised.” He took Alexis into the exam room. He put on his gloves and touched her wrist a few times and saw her flinch every time. “You might have a fracture. But, I want to take an x-ray to see. How long have you had this pain?”
"Hi, mom. Hi, Patrick. I think I twisted my wrist. It hurts so badly, that I can't even touch it, Patrick." She, breathed in deeply, and looked at them.
Patrick gave her a soft smile. “Thank you so much for coming.” He felt her hug and hugged her back a little bit tighter. “I’m doing good. We have a new pediatric attending that’s supposed to be here today. I’m about to go on break.” He turned around when he saw Jason and Alexis come in. “Jason, Alexis. What happened?”
