Resurrection of Egypt Pt.1: The Drought of Egypt.
Category: Uncategorized

Egypt, 18,000 BC

Anubis stood alongside Persa looking out across the land. As a God and Demon they could see far beyond the gaze of human eyes. The reaching Rocky Mountains and bright harshness of Ra's sun did nothing to limit what could be seen as clear as the water of the freshest streams.

"They are spreading like a plague" he said quietly. His words were never t needed. She knew his thoughts and as the Sword of Anubis had acted on them many times. "These humans may fuel me, their prayers and fear make me grow strong. Yet they grow stronger in dominance with each generation whilst the Titans fade into myth and your kind become mongrel half breeds like vampires and the like.

"Evolution my young friend". The voice was not from Persa, she would never address him with such informality. Behind them came a looming figure, that of the crocodilian a God Sobek. Taken by the Egyptians as the God of life, rebirth, firtility and the Nile itself he glanced at Persa making it clear that she was expected to excuse herself to her Lord, Anubis which she wisely did.

"Why do you seek me out again Lord Sobek?" Anubis asked. Despite his disdain for Sobek's desire to be loved by and help the humans even he wouldn't dare show him disrespect. Sobek was among the most ancient God's left in Egypt with only Ra himself older, but Ra had by curse of his role never left the skies. "You keep looking for something in me that is not there. These humans are cattle. Our food and our sustenance nothing more".

Sobek gave a huge toothy grin, yet despite his terrifying form his eyes were warm looking upon the Jackel headed Anubis. "I know more of your potential than you can imagine young Anubis. And maybe one day you will understand that we and all other species from God's to insects need each other if this Nation of Egypt is to survive".

Anubis arrogant sneer turned suddenly to confusion. He knew Sobek wasn't one to use words without reason. For a crocodile headed God older than Anubis himself, words were not easy. "Survive? This is the cradle of civilisation. Even if humans spread to every corner of the world this will be its core".

Sobek nodded "Indeed. But humans forget very quickly where they come from. To what they owe their progress. Their lives are fleeting and without them Egypt would be as it would be should the Nile dry".

After a month meets silence Anubis gave a nod. "Proceed Lord Sobek. I'm listening.

Camelot Castle, now.

The leaders of Free World's Nations sat in the same seats that had once been attended by the famed Knights of the round table. The table itself was rough and old but well maintained. Not everyone believed in the story but its significance couldn't be denied. Seven Temp'elar of Blackthorn and Queen Morgan of Camelot engaged warmly and fondly as did King Kim Temp'elar of Japan and Ambrosia Osiris of Dragonia. Not everyone here was as welcomed as others. Tony Stark, commander of Dark Moon may have established peace with the rest of Free World following the conclusion of the Saber War three months ago but he had not yet earned the complete trust of everyone.

"Could someone give me an idea why we are all here?" He asked with a slight roll of the eyes. His general attitude hardly helped win people over.

Fortunately before others could respond the person that had summoned them arrived. Lord Anubis Osiris. He gave his daughter, Ambrosia a subtle smile as he stood at the front of the room. He looked over to Stark who seemed suddenly a little more formal. "Mr. Stark, can you bring up the map of Free World please".

Stark saw his chance to show off knowing full well this was the reason he had been invited and decided he didn't mind one bit. He tapped his ear piece "Jarvis live feed global render". He threw a small disk onto the table and with a flicker of light it projected a three dimensional image of the planet and its two moons. He gestured to Anubis that it was all his.

"Egypt was once the cradle of civilised humanity in free world. While the species formed in other countries it was in Egypt where humanity thrived into a diverse and powerful empire. Science and magic grew to an extent that nobody living today truly can comprehend.

Much of this was under guidance and motivation from the Gods but over time their faith in us wavered and the Gods around the world went into a temporary hibernation of sorts. I however remained behind but had to leave Egypt. If only the God of death remained, Egypt would be dominated by this.

Over time humanity branched outwards, spreading across the world with places like Americas, Camelot and Japan thriving however what most don't know is that in their departure, Egypt became heavily under the influence of demons".

King Kim of Japan looked around the table, noting everyone else's similar confusion. "Anubis, no disrespect to your love of Egypt but that Nation has been a dust bowl of criminal activity for centuries. I'm sure some good people still live there in towns and outposts spread up and down the Nile but you honestly think a bunch of demons cause all of the crime their? We have demons, heck even in my own family".

"Without them Egypt would be as it would be should the Nile dry". Anubis quoted walking around the table. "Humanity is the key to life on this planet. The Gods created the dragons. Without human worship the Gods are powerless. Vampires, demons, all exist in harmony only because they have been tempered by breeding into humanity. Without them and the Gods Egypt lost its soul, it's balance. Without humanity what would the demons in your family have become?

Your highness I believe there is one, one demon. One of the most ancient untouched by humanity. And he has operated out of Egypt for thousands of years now. I ask for the support of this council to reclaim Egypt from this demon. To expel the drug deals and weaponry. The slave trade. The child labour. The terrorising of innocent villages. I ask you to let me take this demon out of Egypt and resurrect my families home."

Stark gave a resounding applause, with a hint of playful enthusiasm. "Oh I'm sorry I thought it was obvious... We are agreeing yes?"

The council looked to each other and finally with smiles all around Kim Temp'elar nodded "Let's do it".
