The Walking Dead: Rise of the Dogmen (Parts One and Two)
Category: Blogging

(An original Walking Dead story which will hopefully consist of at least four parts, and I definitely wanted to do something a little bit different this time around, because I love cryptids and see no reason why they can't exist alongside biters, aka walkers so please enjoy and thanks for reading it my friends!)

Part One:

The Governor was not exactly in the best of moods right now, because several Woodbury residents had recently disappeared and were never found again either, so the brave and determined man took it upon himself to go on a solo scouting missing, rejecting any help because this was his responsibility and he alone would do whatever it took in order to either find his people alive, or at least give them a decent and proper burial should they be found deceased. Philip Blake was an imposing individual who had also been working out and putting on more muscle along the way, and since he really didn't fear too much whatsoever, the intimidating man known as the Governor made his way through the woods before appearing in a large, somewhat open area which he assumed had been partially cleared for logging before the world went to complete and utter shit, but something told him that he'd just made a very serious mistake indeed, for what appeared in the immediate distance was neither biters aka walkers, or humans but an entirely new threat altogether. Several large creatures quickly surrounded him and they each stood about six feet tall, resembling what could only be called dogmen and they were around three hundred pounds as well, but despite being scared and also very confused too, at least now Philip Blake knew what had happened to his poor people, however he would never back down from a fight and this time was certainly no exception either, so the Governor smiled evilly before producing a long, extremely sharp knife as he caught them all by complete surprise, charging straight at the beasts while also screaming at the top of his lungs for good measure!

"Come on you goddamn pieces of shit! I'm taking one of you motherfuckers with me!"

The vicious and blood thirsty, yet also inexperienced juvenile creatures had never encountered anything like this before, having the fight taken to them by an insane human who clearly had a death wish to say the least, but suddenly the first animal howled in agonizing pain as Philip lunged forward and grabbed its neck with one hand, while also driving the deadly weapon right into that damn thing's cruel and unforgiving heart, before quickly removing the blade then forcing it straight through its neck as well! The startled dogman actually collapsed to the ground as Philip continued assaulting it over and over again, until finally the head was severed and this supposedly weak and frail human drew first blood as he screamed in triumph, while also holding the now dead creature's head high in the air, waving it around as he both taunted and cursed the others more than once. Finally their shock wore off and they quickly surrounded him, before one of them grabbed Philip and tossed him against a nearby oak tree, most definitely breaking several ribs as he screamed in sheer agony, so unless someone or something came to this poor man's rescue before too much more time passed, the courageous but doomed Woodbury leader would be ripped apart then eaten by these hideous looking beasts, for both they and their entire pack intentionally hunted human beings for sheer pleasure, rather than food although the gluttonous animals always made sure to completely consume however many men, women, even innocent children they viciously murdered without remorse!

Part Two:

Rebecca never liked it whenever Philip took matters into his own hands like that, because despite the Governor's noble intentions he sometimes neglected his personal well being at the expense of trying to do what was right for the good citizens of Woodbury, so she reluctantly disobeyed her brave leader's orders by setting out to find him before it was too late, yet something told this highly determined young woman that neither biters nor evil humans were responsible for the recent disappearances of several Woodbury residents, so needless to say it came as a great shock when she discovered the actual source of what had been slaughtering innocent people in cold blood! Three large, but not yet fully grown creatures were circling an obviously injured Philip Blake, yet one lay dead nearby and she could only assume that he'd exacted brutal revenge before completely losing whatever advantage he may have had over them, so Rebecca immediately went on the offensive as she charged directly at the dogmen, her skin turning a dark blue shade of color while at the same time, the sanguine virus kicked in to its full strength and somehow those creatures knew that she was far from a normal human.

"Leave at once or else you're all dead!"

They all paused and hesitated, not knowing what to make of this horrifying looking individual standing before them, but before any of them could react she had already slammed into the largest dogman, easily knocking him down as several ribs instantly snapped which caused it more than a little pain, while her right hand drove through its chest before quickly removing a still beating heart, which she then bit in half without warning, Rebecca's immense power caused the already dying beast's head to be completely severed, as both hands twisted and turned before a sickening crunch was heard, then she slowly stood back up and glared at the remaining creatures, who both turned and quickly fled through the woods, whimpering and seemingly begging for her not to finish them off as well. Whenever the sanguine virus kicked in at one hundred percent, Rebecca possessed almost unimaginable power and endurance, making her far more dangerous than any single other entity out there, but soon the entire pack would return along with the alpha male and alpha female too, thus greatly reducing the odds that these two tough and durable humans would ever make it back to Woodbury alive, because those four dogmen were the youngest and most inexperienced of the entire pack, and had more or less just been wandering around looking for trouble, yet surely the combined wrath of over a dozen vicious, vengeful animals would prove to be too much for even Rebecca and the Governor to somehow overcome!

"Sir, are you alright? Please stay still and don't move while I tend to your injuries."

Philip was just about to protest when Rebecca shook her head no, because she would have none of it until after tending to his wounds, so he sighed deeply then followed her advice by biting down against one of her bandanas, thus muffling screams of pain as she began working on his broken ribs, popping them back into place while the Governor winced in agony, but he was one tough son of a bitch and would undoubtedly see this through without giving up or asking for her to stop!

"There, all better now but they're still broken. However, at least you can breathe a lot more easily and they should eventually heal as well. Oh and sir, do we stand and fight or go back to Woodbury and either get help, or prepare the town for an all out assault which is sure to happen sooner, rather than later?"

Rebecca had now reverted back to a normal human, because the virus only appeared whenever she became scared or enraged, but over time it might yet become stronger until either completely taking over her entire body, or perhaps turning Rebecca into a full blooded vampire in the event of her actual death, although both scenarios were far from certain to actually happen, being merely possibilities but before Philip even spoke she already knew her boss' answer.

"We stand our ground and fight if they attack us, otherwise we go back to Woodbury and prepare both ourselves and everyone else for the worst! Something tells me they assuredly want us dead first, before even thinking about our folks back home, but yes, sooner or later Woodbury will no doubt be in grave danger. Oh and thank you Rebecca, for saving my ass back there. Hell, this is the one and only time I'm glad you actually disobeyed my direct orders! However, let's not make that a habit, alright?"

He smiled pleasantly at his best friend whom he'd also adopted as his daughter, for theirs was a strong bond which nothing and no one could ever break no matter what, yet business was still that and she slowly nodded before apologizing to her undisputed leader.

"Yes sir, understood and I won't ever disobey you again. Oh no worries and you're quite welcome about that, because it's the very least I could have done for you, after you saved me from certain death at Gareth's hands!"

They then hugged each other before making their way to an abandoned cabin to spend the night away from the elements, but certainly not out of the reach of the savage dogman pack, who would most likely be making things miserable for them both later on tonight, or perhaps another possibility involves the powerful creatures allowing Rebecca and Philip to lead them directly into Woodbury itself, were surely a horrific slaughter of epic proportions would soon follow, as dying people scream in sheer, absolute agony while literally getting ripped apart by these most dangerous of cunning entities!
