Letters to The Spring Court Pt2 Category: Uncategorized
When Azriel handed her the message that he had caught from thin air Herdis flashed him a smile, "Did it burn you? Because Sassa might be too afraid to ever send another if she started another fire, this time on you." He wasn't one for big shows of emotion but his laugh was quick and strong and made Herdis smile wider. "Even if it did now I wouldn't be able to tell you ladies would I?" Her own laugh was just as quick, sharp and loud as she shook her head, "Fair point. Dont worry, ill still tell Cassian that it happened so he can tease you mercilessly." His groan followed her down the stairs and her laughter was rang out as she cleared the landing and headed into the townhouses kitchen. Herdis picked a stool by the patio door and folded herself to read her letter. She started by smiling, offered a frown at her sisters questions and then smiled again at her warnings. Folding the paper she tucked it into her pocket and then reached down that mental link between her and her Mate, the bond that lived between them, always keeping them connected. "Rhys, do you have a minute?" she wondered down said bond and could almost feel his smile before his voice filtered into her head, "For you? Always. Is everything ok?" Herdis nodded but realized he wasn't with her and instead thought, "It is, Sassa had a question and I wanted to come and run it by you. Still in your office?" And at his assent she made her way through the long house, knocking once on the door before letting herself in. There stood her Mate, all violet eyes and devilish smiles waiting for her. She moved to him first, pressing her lips to his like it might have been days since they last spoke face to face and not hours. When his hands slid from her sides she released him and then turned a smile on the other person in the room. "Afternoon Mor," she called to her Mates cousin receiving a smile in return, one all too knowing given how often the poor girl walked in on her and Rhys locked together. "So, two of you here is better then one. Sassa said a priestess just turned up in the Spring Court, and she doesn't like the feel of her but she also doesn't want to rock the boat. Her name is Ianthe, and apparently her and Tamlin are old friends..." Herdis trailed off as she watched Mor and Rhys lock eyes, a look passing between them. "What was that? Whats wrong with her?" Herdis asked looking between them before Mor broke and admitted, "I don't know the whole story. I only know that she was banned from the Court Of Nightmares... it takes a lot to be banned from hell itself." Herdis swung back to look at her Mate, and he sighed before nodding, "Nothing good comes from Ianthe being back. But its not a story for here." Down the bond he murmured, "Tonight I will explain everything, though the story will anger you." And then out loud he again spoke. "Write to your sister today, make sure she knows the woman isn't to be trusted. And then I will see about speaking to Tamlin personally about the matter. Sassa should avoid Ianthe when its possible, I don't need my Mate running off to another court to start a war." Herdis snorted then, a small bubble of her tension leaving her with it. "So long as you know I would." She leaned back on her heels and nodded, "Ok, ill go to write Sassa, you two finish up here and then find me when you're done?" She offered and smiled when Rhysand returned her smile. Leaning in as she walked by she gave him one final kiss and then called as she left the room, "See you later Mor," and Mors voice called the same to her before the door snapped shut again. Herdis jogged up to her bedroom and shoving over some of Rhysands papers from the desk there plucked up her notebook and a pen. She carried both with her to the terrace. With the sun to set soon she loved to be outside and watch night fall. She decided then she would wait for Rhys to be done with work out there. He could come and join her and she could curl into him as he told her the story he was clearly dreading having to relive. But he would, for her, because Herdis worried for her sister and he would do anything for her. "I love you," she sent down the bond and smiled when he returned it much to quickly to have been focused on his work. Flipping open her book she set about writing her letter. Her penmanship was sloppy, to the eternal horror of her mother but it was legible and Sassa would understand. Besides, with the urging from Rhys and Mor that this Ianthe was bad news she was worried, and she wanted word to get to her sister as quickly as possible. Tearing a page from her book she folded it twice before she used the same method of smoke and flames to send her letter to her sister. Sitting back in her seat she waited for her Mate to finish with his work and join her, hopefully just as the stars started to speckle the sky. She liked looking at his violet eyes with the backdrop of stars surrounding them. My Sweet Sassa, Be proud, that letter almost took out Az. How embarrassing for a shadow singer to get taken out by a little smoke and ash. But no really it got here fine and with zero damage so kudos. I did see the painting, it was so pretty i'm eternally jealous it wasn't for me. Also thanks for the heads up about Mom and Dad coming soon, the last thing I want is for Grimm and Asa to feel ambushed by them. As for your question you should trust yourself more. Rhys hasn't given me the whole story yet, he might never. But I trust him so trust me when I say that priestess is bad news. She's been banned from the Court Of Nightmares... that should tell you just how bad she is. Rhys lets all kinds of assholes dwell there. So stay away from her as much as possible. Stick by Tamlins side and Rhys said he will talk to Tam about taking out the trash... really he just doesnt want me going there and picking a fight. But still you were right and you be careful until she is gone. If anything at all happens you send word to me instantly. I will come with Rhys and Grimm to get you. Don't play the hero and don't try to hide a thing because then I will have to come pick a fight anyways. I love you and will come for a not fighting visit soon. Herdis
