Jason was in his office taking care of some paperwork. He heard a knock on the door. “It’s open.” He said and smiled when he saw who it was. “Hi.” He stood up from his seat and walked over.
Jason smiled at him. “I know you won’t. Don’t worry about that. All I need for you to do is to just continue what you’ve been doing. I will tell our PR Department so that they can put out an announcement. I will also get you a nameplate. We will go out to celebrate as well. Congratulations again, I am so proud of you.”
Michael felt his hug and hugged him back a little bit tighter. “I promise you that I will not let you down as your COO. I am really looking forward to this.”
Jason smiled softly when he heard him. “That is because I always wanted better for you, Michael. At the time, there was no way out for me. I was in too deep with the mob and I didn’t want that for you. You have grown into an amazing man. I could not be prouder of you. Working with you has been incredible. That is why, I feel that you are the perfect person for the COO position. Not to mention you have earned it with how hard you work.” He heard him say yes and smiled. He shook his hand and hugged him.
Michael took the glass of water from him then sat down as he listened to him. “I remember when Edward put me in charge when I was so young. I had no idea what I was doing. The only reason I wound up taking the job was because of you. You told me it would be much safer compared to the mob. You didn’t want me near that life. You wanted better for me. Then, when AJ became CEO, things got so crazy. Especially with the Pickled Lila Relish.” He shook his head. “Grandmother was right to let us go and put you in charge. In regards to me, I was too young and she was 100 percent right. I never ever expected you to be running ELQ. Yet, here you are. When I saw how the company was near the ground then how you brought it back up. I knew you were the right man for the job. I was grateful when Grandmother brought me back a few years later. Then, I finally got to work alongside you and learn from you. It has been an honor. I have learned so much from you. About life, business, loyalty, fatherhood, family.” He nodded his head. “It would be an absolute honor and privilege to be your COO. My answer is yes. I accept your offer.” He shook his hand.
Jason smiled when he saw him. “Hey Michael. Thank you for coming.” He nodded his head. “Yeah, I did want to see you. I actually have a business proposition for you.” He went over to the table and poured them both a glass of water and sat down. “Ever since you came back to the company, we have made an incredible team. Whenever, I need time off, I know the company is in amazing hands with you. I was thinking, we don’t have a COO. I can’t think of anyone better who fits that role than you.” He gave him a soft smile. “What do you say?”
Michael heard that Jason wanted to see him. So he went to his office and knocked on the door. When he heard him say to come in, he opened the door and smiled. “Hey Jason.” He closed the door. “You said you wanted to see me. Is everything okay?”
