(This is a flashback sequence which ties into Philip and Rebecca's Woodbury vs. Terminus: Prelude story, in which Philip and Rick are working together in order to take out Terminus once and for all. The Governor and his soldiers actually attack the dreaded compound, while Rick's group leave the Prison to guard Woodbury in case any of Gareth's survivors try to attack it out of revenge.)

Philip Blake, also known as the Governor, was a somewhat mentally unbalanced but overall good and just man, who sincerely loved his people and would do anything to keep them safe, even if it meant occasionally resorting to brutal and unconventional methods, such as torturing Woodbury's enemies whom had been captured, in order to either gain further information from them, or simply give them a taste of their own medicine, but he also used some of those very same prisoners as human bait. Forced into doing Woodbury's dirty work for them, every now and then these captive individuals would be used against the Governor's enemies, be they human or otherwise, yet at the same time Philip knew exactly what he was doing, because he only treated certain prisoners horribly, such as rapists, murderers, child molesters, and so on, while treating all other captives very kindly indeed. This was also an insurance policy too, because it kept his enemies at bay, because they would never launch an all out attack against Woodbury, due to their own people often being held hostage and possibly killed in the event of said attack.

However, these controversial methods only worked against conventional enemies, and would never prove effective against Gareth's Terminus cannibals, who had become far more aggressive than before, and were even then out actively seeking to murder people in cold blood, then consume the raw human flesh of their many unfortunate victims, as opposed to merely remaining at Terminus while waiting for others to come to them.

Philip Blake and Rick Grimes actually had much in common and the two men could work well together if given half a chance, so with that being said they decided to meet up at an abandoned barn, to discuss certain things while also seeing whether or not they would become allies or otherwise.

"I brought whiskey and you're welcome to some right now."

Philip smiled cordially as he extended a brand new bottle of it over to where Rick was sitting, and after pouring himself a nice, tall glass of the alcoholic beverage, the Prison leader thanked his Woodbury counterpart before they both began indulging in the sweet, rich taste of the whiskey.

"Well thank you Philip, and it's really quite good to be honest. Say now, I just have a few questions to start things off. First on the agenda, where in the hell did you get that damn tank? Not exactly something you see just conveniently laying around. Also, you wouldn't happen to know anything about several of my people disappearing recently, now would you?"

Rick was suspicious of the Governor as he glared at the other man sitting across the table from him, while the one called Philip Blake slowly nodded before responding in a calm and even voice.

"I've a good friend who was in the National Guard, and after me and my people came across his folks we decided to join up together, and they're now staying at Woodbury with everyone else. That's where the tank and some other weapons came from, but hell man, if you don't believe me just ask my friend, and he'll reaffirm every single thing I've said. Oh and I wouldn't know anything about that, although several of my people have also disappeared lately too, so would you mind explaining just what's going on here?"

Now it was the Governor's turn to glare at Rick, as each man became increasingly suspicious that the other had been responsible for those good men and women seemingly vanishing into thin air, but eventually cooler heads prevailed when they realized that an outside entity had been preying upon not only Woodbury, but also Prison residents as well.

"I see. What the fuck?"

The Governor suddenly stopped talking as some kind of confrontation was taking place outside the barn, so he and Rick wasted no time in assisting the people who had driven them here in the first place, as gunshots went off while Merle, Martinez, Daryl and Andrea all yelled and screamed for Rick and Philip to take cover. Finally, after what seemed like an eternity but was actually less than a minute, Daryl came up to Rick and explained what happened.

"Goddamn son of a bitches tried to kill us all! They almost ambushed us but I saw them out of the corner of my eye, and we managed to take cover behind our vehicles, but they quickly drove off after you guys showed up to help. Have no fucking idea who any of them are though."

Everyone was confused by this brazen and cowardly daytime attack, but it only made Philip and Rick quickly shake hands before vowing to get to the bottom of everything.

"Alright then Rick, looks like we've got our goddamn answer right there! Whoever those people are, well it's safe to say that they must be behind all those disappearances, or at least some of them anyway."

"Yeah they have to be behind them, maybe not every single one but yeah, think we've still got a lot of fucking work to do right now, but don't you worry Philip, because together Woodbury and the Prison will make those assholes pay dearly!"

Their new alliance was still uneasy, mostly because of what had happened between the Governor and Michonne earlier, but later on Philip and her met up and agreed to set asides their differences, in order to figure out just who the fuck was responsible for more than a few Prison and Woodbury residents vanishing under very mysterious circumstances! However, before the issue with Terminus can even come close to at last being resolved, Rick and Philip must work together or else yet another enemy would take over the entire area much sooner, rather than later!
