Another Day in Marquis Madness – Chloe’s Chronicles Category: Uncategorized
December 1st It’s been a weird day. Mom’s been extra focused on her school lately, and I swear she’s working harder than usual. Uncle Christian keeps reminding her not to overdo it, but she gives him that look. He doesn’t push back much after that, though I think he’s silently keeping score. Uncle Dorian was his usual sarcastic self today. I caught him teasing Christian about his obsession with writing everything down. It’s funny how old-school Uncle Christian is—his leather journals and quills might as well be artifacts. Meanwhile, I’m here on my laptop, typing away. I can’t imagine writing my thoughts with an actual pen. Too messy. As for me, I’m still stuck in this constant tug-of-war with Mom. I know she means well, but sometimes I wish she’d let her hair down. Maybe stop being so...perfect. It’s exhausting just watching her, let alone living with the expectations she sets. But whatever. I’m not going to let it get to me tonight. On the bright side, the students seem to be buzzing with excitement about some winter event Mom’s planning. I overheard whispers about secret guests and elaborate decor. It’s her way of keeping the girls engaged, I suppose, but it’s also another reason for her to stress. Classic Mom. I hope she finds some space to breathe. Anyway, enough rambling. Time to stream something mindless and unwind. -Chloe
