Philip Blake can be a dark antihero or sadistic villain, so feel free to pick whichever version you'd like, or we can mix them up as well.
Malevolent Protector:
The Governor is on an unrelenting mission to eliminate all evil within society in general, because purging mankind of degenerate filth will no doubt ensure the survival of those who are innocent. Make no mistake about it, this mentally unstable man believes in using quite brutal methods in order to finally eradicate murderers and rapists, also child molesters and all other wretched scum from a cruel and cold world, which is no doubt in need of an extremely violent hero right now. In this particular version, Gareth and his demented Terminus cannibals have become far more aggressive than before, even venturing out to kidnap innocent people from other settlements like Woodbury, before murdering them in cold blood as their thirst for human flesh increases. The Governor had tried his best to always remain a peaceful man no matter what, but after several of his people ended up being slaughtered at Gareth's vile hands, something inside Philip snapped and now he will never rest until Woodbury's good honor is avenged in blood!
Vehement Sadist:
The Governor absolutely delights in murdering innocent people in cold blood whenever possible, although he will not hesitate to exterminate out other malevolent individuals who might pose a threat to his highly demented, no questions asked way of ruling Woodbury. More of a remorseless dictator than anything else, the Governor can also be quite charming and very charismatic as well, but for him it means nothing to torture and mass murder those who are foolish enough to challenge his authority in any way.
