Lord Tierce is extremely pious, taking his duties as Father Bertrand's own personal witch and demon hunter very seriously. Seeing no difference between outright Satanists and those who claim to be holy, yet follow other heretical religions besides the Roman Catholic faith, this great man of God vows to eradicate the filth which plagues its empire, until only those truly pure in both body and spirit remain. Although deriving much satisfaction from the burning of witches and various heretics at the stake, he nevertheless holds out a small amount of hope that by cleaning their sins through the purifying flames, such ungrateful sinners may yet be redeemed after death. His superior, the high and mighty Father Bertrand, also seeks to completely eliminate all forms of sin from within the Roman Catholic society in general.
