Khal was the eldest of the dragons born on earth from the dying body of the celestial dragon. Before even the great beast known as dinosaurs walked this world. The dragons ruled it. The molten world molded by the many dragons to bring forth life. But one part of that life was humanity. Humanity questions the rule of the dragons and began to hunt them for the power that could be had from their bones and blood. Khal was imprisoned by a council of mages for many years leaving him powerless and forced to watch as humans hunted down his children all but wiping most of his kind from existence. It was not till many years later a young mage by the name Merlin a human born to a very long life. Befriended the dragon kept by his order. In an act of companion and defiance, the young mage freed Khal and granted him the ability to take on human form so he could find and protect the last of his kind.
