Sage was thrilled when she received the invitation for the Yggdrasil Kingdom's Christmas Ball. Her eyes lit up and with a giggle she went back inside. She and Ruindol would have to make an appearance for sure. She knew exactly what to wear and once they arrived she scanned the room for Amora and Katla. They both had been so nice and she wanted to thank them in person for the gifts they gave baby Ezra. As she scanned the room she caught sight of Katla first and slipped from Ruindol's arm to greet her. She looked a bit sad but she was determined to put a smile on her face. "It's a beautiful party Katla." She smiled then gave her dear friend a hug. "I told you I'd make it."
As Thor went to get her something to drink so she remained relaxed and off her feet she confirmed with Arethusa while laughing that glitter bombs would be far off. Her friend had a horrible habit for random acts of glitter. When Thor returned with her glass she pouted, "This isnt champagne, id even tale ale," she said with a dramatic sigh, though it was short lived. "Everyone looks like they are having a good time right? And s far no creatures running wild. Id say we have a success on our hands love."
Thor moved to say hello to everyone seeing so many great faces he leaned over to press a kiss to the top of Amora's head. "I'll go get you a drink." he spoke heading over to grab ale for himself and something fizzy but not alcoholic for Amora. As he was passing by Revan and Nan he chuckled. "The day before Christmas we have a ritual sacrifice that includes all of Asgard. We bless the animals used for the feast and Amora and myself slice their necks. We tend to do this when our non locals are here. Maybe one day Nan could bring you if your interested?" he grinned and moved back towards his wife and he moved to give her the drink. "Well I bet it's not as fun as mine." he chuckled and he sipped his ale. "But I assume you like it for having them make it?"
Revan smiled glad to see so many people enjoying the event. He wasn't quite sure how Christmas fit into the beliefs of Asgardians but be it a celebration of winter harvests, a celebration for the birth of a saviour or simply a time to be around family and friends it was a wonderful time of year and something he held onto as dear to him. Despite what had been done to him by demons he found Christmas was a time he held his humanity stronger than ever and with pride. He looked happily at the gift candy had given him, very pleased and grateful for it before placing it safely in his pocket. "Seems that everyone is getting into the festive spirit" he said to Nan "is there a usual routine at these parties?"
Christmas, what a farce of a holiday. Nyghtwolfe was amused by the fact that for nearly a century, the humans celebrated Saturnalia under the guise of Saint Nick and his eight flying reindeer. Originally, the holiday was celebrated with a blood sacrifice at the Temple of Saturn, and a public banquet, followed by private gift-giving, continual partying, and a carnival atmosphere of jolly making; gambling and dice tossing was permitted, and masters provided table service for their slaves. Rampant overeating and drunkenness became the rule, and a sober person was the exception.
After the Romans adopted the Christian beliefs, Saturnalia would be transformed into the Christmas that we celebrate today. It was the same holiday by a different name. As a pagan goddess, Nyghtwolfe preferred to remember the ancient ways of Saturnalia. She walked into the party with a goat tethered to a lesh. It baa'ed as she lead it to the altar as a blood sacrifice to the god Saturn, also identified with the Greek Cronus who was exiled from Olympus by Zeus. She tied the sacrificial goat to the leg of the altar and then wandered over to fetch herself a glass of blood wine.
Katla was nervous as she headed into the already crowded room. She knew Erland was nearby, he always was, but because of propriety he wasn't accompanying her as she had requested. They still had alot of adjusting to their new normal of theirs. So she grabbed the first glass she saw, sipping cool amber liquid as she scanned the room for some familiar faces. She had invited a friend but she didnt see her yet so she milled around hoping to avoid most awkward conversation.
Nan laughed while her twin sister bumped her hip and she moved her free hand out to slap her ass as she walked by them and Nan waited beside Revan patiently as he spoke to Gala and Candy both. Her eyes lit up when she spotted Mo and she smirked giving Revan's arm a squeeze as she leaned over to kiss Mo on the cheek. "Well no elf ears? Or afraid you offend some of the locals?" she snorted a laugh nodding her chin to a few of her family members.
Moira slipped into the party and almost immediately saw some of her family. She debated for a second hiding in the crowd. There was a couple local Asgardians she preferred a peep at but she figured if she didnt say hello they would no doubt stumble on her later and she would lack any excuse. So Mo grabbed a drink and down it quickly, discarding the cup so her grandmother wouldnt see her with it. Walking up to the cluster of people she flashed a smile, "Hi grandma, Mr fight club, Nan." She nudged the taller brunette with her elbow, flashing her a knowing grin before looking at her grandmother and cousin across from the other two she had slid up beside. She peeked around their shoulders once or twice, looking for Viggo, or maybe a casual glimpse of the tinman.
When Arethusa walked in her smile tugged wide at her lips and she moved to clap her hands together looking around at all the blue and silver Amora had decorated with. Her lite eyes moved around the ball room until she waved at Seven, Revan and Nan with her twin sister. She spotted the hosts and made a quick bee line for them. "Amora! You didn't tell me about all the blue!" she laughed softly bouncing up and down as she leaned forward to press a kiss to her cheek and moved to do the same to Thor. "I heart blue for obvious reasons and all. But damn this takes the taco!" she laughed and she looked around once more. "I promise no glitter bombs. Well at least not right now." she winked to Amora before going towards the bar picking up some fruity drink she moved to gulp it down.
Bráma walked through the wide doorway looking around to gauge how late she was. Walking by her uncles friend Seven she snagged a drink form the tray passing before him and flashed a smile,"Hello," she said but continued on her way. She hip bumped her sister as she walked by, sending Nans hips driving into her partners who she stood with as a crowd milled around them. Sipping from the flute she held she saw her aunt and uncle, and headed up to say hello.
Candy returns the hug to her Gramma and smiles with a twinkle in her eye.
"I got you a present Gramma. I wasn't expecting to see you here but that's ok. I can go fetch it quick."
Candy flashed out of the party with her demon abilities and flashed right back in with a wrapped present for her Gramma and also one for Revan.

Seven had attended a number of events at Asgard before and he was hopeful that some of his family would join him. Until then he recognised many of the faces here but for now quietly took himself to get a drink, enjoying the atmosphere.
Having slipped away from the Nanny who was tending to her little sisters once the girls were settled Herdis headed towards the party her parents already had underway. She could hear music pouring from the room and it made her smile despite her usual mood to never participate in things she didnt have hand in for fear of people paying her to much attention. But as she slipped into the room and looked around, avoiding where her parents sat her eyes scanned the people milling around, hoping to catch sight of a certain Avenger currently taking up residence in Asgard.
