Name: Harthor "The Great one of many names" Status: open Playby: Relationship: Biography: Hathor is one of the most famous Goddesses of Acient Egypt. She was known as the "Great One of Many Names" and her titles and attributes are so numerous that she was important in every area of the life and death of the ancient Egyptians. It is thought that her worship was widespread even in the Predynastic period because she appreas on the Narmer palette. Hathor represents Upper Egypt and Bast represents Lower Egypt. She is the first of the Gods to become unpleased by what is going on in her country. How her people are being treated and the corruption of the Royals whom were supposed to represent the love she had for her subjects. Throughout the time of Cleopatra, she tries to give the young Pharoh and priest warnings of how things will turn out if they continue the actions. Hathor watches with quiet disgust, planning her punishment along with the other Gods.
Name: Anubis "God of Death" Status: OPEN Playby: Relationship: Cleopatra Biography: Anubis was associated with the mummification and protection of the dead for their journey into the afterlife. He was usually protrayed as a half human, half jackal, or in full jackal from wearing a ribbon and holding a flail in the crook of its arm. The jackal was strongly associated with cemeteries in ancient Egypt, since it was a scavenger which threatened to uncover human bodies and eat their flesh. The distinctive black colour of rotting flesh and with the black soil of the Nile valley, symbolizing rebirth. He is arrogant, unfair to humans an unapologetic to his victims once they have angered him. But Anubis has a soft spot for a certain mundan Queen, Cleopatra. She is the keeper of the book of the dead and he soon becomes attracted to the power that she holds. He romances the Queen but soon learns of the wicked schemes her father has been plannin. Anubis only wishes to punish those who have threatened Cleopatra but soon finds out that Cleopatra is infected as well. Despite the protests of the other Gods, Anubis tries to interfere with Cleopatra's life in the modern world an woo's her until she remembers. His lack of faith in humanity keeps the curse strong.
Name: Isis "She of the Throne" Status: open Playby: Irina Shayk Relationship: Biography: The Egyptian goddess Isis was worshipped throughout Egypt, even from very early dates. Isis was considered to be the patron saint of women, mothers and children and helper of the slaves. Additionally, ancient Egyptians reffered to her as Isis, the goddess of magic. It is told that she mananged to trick Ra into revealing his secret name to her and in doing so, Isis obtained many magical powers. Unlike many Egyptian gods and goddesses, she remained in the same form from the beginning of her history to current dates. Isis achieved much fame throughout history and many temples were dedicated to her honor and for the purpose of worshipping her. Unlike the other Gods, Isis has compassion for the humans who have been faithful to her and ask for forgiveness. A certain human though had caught her eye. he was loyal, loving and very faithful to her and it makes her long to reach him. Her fellow Gods had believed it was a trick she was playing on the human, but Isis truly did care for Kafele. Despite her efforts, she agree's to the punishment an sits back. But she swears to keep Kafele safe and be by his side until the curse is over. She stays loyal to her roots and believes in the human race, even though she is proud of any punishment she gives out.
Name: Basete "The protector" Status: TAKEN Playby: Kate Beckinsale Relationship: Biography: She is depicted as either a fierce lioness or a woman with the head of a lion. Originally she was viewed as the protector goddess of Lower Egypt. As protector, she was seen as defender of the Pharaoh, and consequenly of the later chief male deity, Ra, who was also a solar deity, gaining her the titles of Lady of Flame and Eye of Ra. Basete is represented as a woman with the head of a cat and ultimately emerged as the Egyptian cat-goddess. The domestic cat appeared as Basete's sacred animal and after the New Kingdom, she was depicted as a woman with the head of a cat or lioness, carrying a sacred rattle and a box or basket. Basete has compassion and love for her subjects and for Cleopatra. She has sympathy for the young Queen who has been so easily manipulated by her own father, sometimes even going as far as appearing in Cleopatra's dreams to warn her of the danger being put on her. But sadly, her warm and loving protection is thwarted from the deceitful mind of Heru. Despite her soft complexion, Basete has a fierce and dangerous side. It's rarely seen by anyone or her fellow Gods, but when the lioness is set free, no one can be safe. Though her anger towards Heru and to anyone who is against the Pharaoh or the people of Egypt, she tries to keep the love for everyone. She is so blind to the plans from the other Gods; Basete has no time to warn the people from the up and coming danger. As the day of reckonin becomes closer, it is far too late for Basete to change the minds of the Gods. Not even Ra is able to stop what is about to happen. But with the love she has for humanity, herself and Ra come up with a plan to save the people from the curse. Ra helps bend the rules without the knowlege of his companions.
Name:Cleopatra"Queen of the Nile" [The Pharoh] Status: closed Playby: Candice Swanepoel Relationship: Anubis Biography: The famous Egyptian ruler that everyone knows as the companion of Julius Caesar and Marc Antony was actually Cleopatra the seventh. She was born in 69 B.C. in Alexandria, Egypt, into the Ptolemy dynasty. The young Queen was very knowledgeable on the host of topics including literature, mathematics, astronomy, and medicine. She had a gift for languages and it is thought that she spoke at least four fluently. Throughout her life, she dreamed of establishing a greater world empire. Althought some see her as conniving and mercenary, she did many things for the betterment of her country. Cleopatra did whatever was necessary to save Alexandria, no matter the cost to herself. Her dying wish was to not be forgotten; through the years, it had been granted. Throughout her rein, her father had continued to corrupt the mind of how things should have been run. Constantly whispering secrets of how everyone other than her family were against her. It was her mother who kept Cleopatra in check, reminding her of the good in people and to not listen to her father. Although things were starting to look up, Cleopatra could feel the Gods were unpleased, unaware of how her life would change forever.
Name: Ra " Place of Pillars" Status: OPEN Playby: River Viiperi Relationship: Biography: Ra is the God of Sun, to the Egyptians; the sun represented light, warmth and growth. This made the sun deity very important as the sun was seen as the ruler of all that he created. The sun disk was either seen as the body or eye of Ra. He was thought to travel on solar boats called the Mandjet (the Boat of Millions of Years), or morning/evening boat. These boats took him on his journey through the sky and and undwrworld. He has tried to keep his displeasure for the human's a secret, but it was clear that all the Gods could see right through him. The corruption of his world has made him slightly bitter but has not given up hope. But Hathor can see right through his facade towards the human's and finds a way with Isis' help to trick Ra into joining their punishment. He instantly regrets the choice to help once he sees the effect it has on the people. But he gives his fellow Gods the chance to prove that it was worth it. He keeps a close eye on each of the people and tries to guide them in the right path towards each other. Ra isn't the type to break the rules, but he is more than happy to bend them.
Name: Heru "The Distant One" Status: OPEN Playby: Javier Barem Relationship: Neith [wife] Biography: He is a corrupt ruler who has become unjust and disloyal to his people. For his crimes, he is de-throned an his daughter, Cleopatra, has taken his place. Instead of taking his anger out on his beloved daughter, he uses her and fills her mind with lies and dishonour to the people of Egypt. He seeks his revenge through the young Pharaoh and does not realize his actions will cause his family and the innocent people punishment from the Gods. Despite his promise to never harm Cleopatra, his greed and anger grows as Egypt comes to love her. His mind wanders as to how he will punish the young Queen which leaves the Gods to grow angrier with his wicked schemes.
Name: Akil "Intelligence" Status: OPEN Playby: Ryan Reynolds Relationship: Eshe [love interest] Biography: He is the eldest cousin of Cleopatra and has been adopted by her family. The weight and daunting task of being ruler of Egypt makes Akil step back from the spotlight. He is unsure of what kind of monarch he will be since he will be next in line if Cleopatra is forced to step down. Akil is a smart and caring soul, and faithful to his Gods and family. Friends are hard to come by and even harder to keep in the corrupt world. Sometimes, he sneaks out of the palace and roams the market place by the Nile. During his stay in the palace, he takes notice in a young maiden. He soon learns her name is Eshe and he refuses to listen to anyone's warnings on the lady in waiting. Akil seeks her out and soon falls for the slave girl, but knows that anyone who learns of the relationship would disapprove. He sneaks away with her any chance he gets an behind the jealousy and hatred towards his cousin, he sees her true beauty. The God's approve of his pure and kind heart, and know that they must award him when the changes come.
Name: Neith "The Devin Mother" Status: OPEN Playby: Shakira Relationship: Heru [husband] Biography: She is the kind hearted mother of Cleopatra, someone everyone loves and adores. Her faith is strong with the Gods and thanks them every day for the health of her family and begs for forgiveness for her husband, Heru. Neith does not agree, nor approves of the evil that lives and grows in her husband and tries to see the man she once fell in love with. To keep her sanity, Neith helps organize events for the youth of the town and helps guide Cleopatra down the right path of being one of the most memorable Pharaoh's and to rule with her heart. The Gods are thankful to have subjects like Neith and favour her future in the modern world.
Name: Kahotep "Peaceful Essence" Status: OPEN Playby: Orlando Bloom Relationship: Chione [love interest] Biography: He is a noble man and kind, the people of Egypt and the Royals go to him for guidance on their souls and help them pray to the heavens for forgiveness. Kahotep is the youngest high priest in Egypt and has been given the gift of foresight. He can see the pain and agony of the people and the twist mind of Heru as he tries to turn Cleopatra against the people. Kahotep can tell that the Gods are angry and how there is no forgiveness in their hearts until the people pay for their crimes. He begs the Gods to have mercy on everyone, but it was all to no prevail. Kahotep is grateful to have found a strong woman to stand by his side. Though he is a priest, he wishes to marry and love Chione. Even though he is scared of what the Gods have in store, he is appreciative that they have given him the chance to love.
Name: Imenand " The Hidden One" Status: OPEN Playby: Nicholas Lemons Relationship:Crush/stalker of Cleopatra Biography: He is one of the personal guards to Cleopatra and there are dark thoughts in his mind, ones that he knows he must keep to himself or he could be in great danger if found out. She has saved him and his sister from starvation and he plans on honouring her in every way possible. He is take aback by her beauty and adores her kind soul, but knows he cannot be with her. Imenand follows Cleopatra anywhere she goes, whether he is on the job or for his own satisfaction. The mere sight of her brings him a dark joy in his heart and seeks a way to make her his own. She and her brother were invited to the palace to work for the Pharaoh and her family. Originally, Chione was a hand maiden to Cleopatra, but caught the attention of the young priest, Kahotep. She saw that the love he had for her had been true and saw the vibrant and honest soul she shared with the Gods. Chione is unaware of her brother's dark secret but soon picks up on his demented thoughts. Before she has the chance to confront her brother, the world is blind-sided by the change from the Gods.
Name: Ebonee "Black" Status: OPEN Playby: Donna Feldmen Relationship: Khepri [little sister] Biography: Her life was never easy but it wasn't as hard as some. But it was a life she wouldn't trade for the world. She adored her family and had a good sense when it came to money and business. She helped her father in the market place and soon caught the eye of Heru during his reign as Pharaoh. Not only did he try to court her, but he threatened to have her family killed if she did not agree to join the Royal family. Despite her begs and plea's, Ebonee was torn away from her family and her little sister, Khepri. She loathes the very sight of the palace she now lives in. Even though Cleopatra tries to regain her trust, Ebonee would rather be home with her family. Whether she gives good advice to the family or misleads them, she is a prisoner.
