Darkness Approaches. Escape and Journey. Light Can Prevail!

For the
sake of duty: A retrospective of their escape..
Malius
had been careful and constructive in the preparation for his plan to depart
after all he had been instructed to protect the Princess from any and al
enemies at the cost f his own life. So now as her home became the most
potent danger to her he had little choice but to smuggle her from the
Kingdom even as he could sense the coming darkness and madness that would
slaughter thousands. He had of course already sought permission to take her
for her own safety though he had told his Lord he would wait till morning
yet now they fled in the middle of the night. Having disguised the young
girl and donned the face of one of the Guard Captains having slain several
of those that had opposed his decision to leave. Riding from the stables
they had passed through the gate severing the controls of the portcullis as
they thundered out to hamper any immediate pursuit.
Malius
knew that even this was only a temporary stalling and having been a hunter
most of his life he knew trackers would be sent to follow them. As such he
changed paths frequently yet rode ever north. Reaching to his pack he
pulled a slender wooden instrument and began to play a soft deep tune. As
he did so the air grew thick and a heavy fog began to coil around them
blanketing the lands in a dense blanket of grey making it difficult for
anyone to see ore than a few feet as well as obscuring any eyes from above.
Even he had been suprised when they encountered Abigail's uncle upon he
road though he did not fully trust the man he reaffirmed his commitment to
her safety while the offer of just riding to his lands was tempting Malius
knew hunters and assassins would expect this and tail him there. Even
though he had not ruledout that as a part of the plan for now his first
goal was to disappear .The cloak he had granted Abigail enshrouded her
light in darkness as they moved from road to small hunter's trail passing
into the dead woods and all but vanishing as he led her this way and that.
They
continued to ride for a few short hours before making their way to the
nearby port city there they hitched the horses as he grabbed their packs
and led the young girl through the darkened city. Here he had made purchase
for travel on not one but thirteen different ships each sailing to a
different destination and time. Escorting the girl he kept her close as he
led her up the ramp of one of the most small and humble looking ships
before giving order to the Captain as they made to set sail. Meanwhile
Malius had trusted associates each wearing disguise to appear as him and
Abigail they were seen boarding several different elaborate ships and
setting sail. Making pursuit nigh impossible for even the best, most ardent
tracker. The ship sailed south as the coastal city disappeared from view
but it was but another ploy.
A large
ship drew alongside the small merchant ship billowing with the dark blood
red sails of the Waiko Pirates. Guiding his charge on board the two of them
mad their way to the Captains cabin. The vast ship would sail north along
the twilight strewn sea and carry them to massive flotilla of the Waiko
Pirates a vast ever moving fleet of ships as well as their floating
fortresses that raided the seas eternally commanded by a man that was
Malius uncle even now they moved ever further from the grasp of the Puppet
Master and his precious dolls.
After meeting with
her Uncle, Strife Nighthade, Abigail decided to follow Malius' idea and board a
ship. She held hard onto her celestial energy. Not even revealing her wings to
Malius, unsure it he knew she was a nephilim. Not many people did. It was the
only reason her father kept her all these years, she figured. When she came
back, she was older and her powers were more developed and stronger. After him
taking it from her too many times, she wanted to fight back, though things were
getting too dark and she knew, with the absence of her mother, Her father
wasn't doing well. She swallowed the idea of her uncle killing him, but knowing
somethings have to happen to have the grace and peace that she always hoped
for. Malius and Abigail
were on a journey to try and find, Cleo. Her mother and her father's one and
only Hellhound. Listening to Strife, no knowing what would make her father stop
this unnecessary madness. Either that or her father's death, which she was bound
to try and fight against. Abigail also knew she needed to get out of the
kingdom before Alucar killed her. Abigail was frightened by her father and
knew, he wouldn't stop all this until her mother returned. She wasn't too sure
of where she was going. Planning on sending a message to Hecate once they were
to safety, she had to start somewhere to figure out where her mother was.
As they boarded the
small ship, she held tightly onto Malius' hand, unsure of exactly if she had
confidence everything would go well, but she was full of faith and grace,
smiling politely at the other men as the boarded the ship. Abigail was frightened by the looks of
the pirates, she would stay close to Malius, knowing at least her father and
uncle trusted him, she had no choice.
