House Zaughym had once been one of the most ancient and powerful of the Drow houses of Menzoberranzan along with their close blood ties to House Baenre. Zaughym Matriachs are believed to have developed some of the most powerful sorcerers ever seen within the Underdark. Seeing this rising power as a growing threat their once close allies plotted their ruination. Iltzatar was little more than a boy when the House Baenre assassins slaughtered his kin during a feast to commemorate the houses union of his elder brother to one of the Baenre daughters. Al females of the line were slaughtered along with all males of child rearing age. Leaving only the three youngest boys Quenthis, Aluin and Iltzatar who were enslaved and taken to serve the Matriarch of House Baenre.
For years Iltzatar was beaten and broken to make him an obedient male. Though he quietly seethed with silent fury the young boy smiled at his captors pretending to honor them. Unlike his brother Aluin who eventually died from the punishments he earned trying to rebel. Iltzatar devoted himself to the Drow deity Selvetarm and devoted himself to the way of the Warrior as he was forbidden using magic by his owners. In spite of this he studied secret caches of his peoples arcane lore in secret.After years of service he was given a final test of his loyalty in order to ensure his place within the House as a warrior. He had to face his own brother Quenthis in a duel to the death. Though his brother was older and they dueled for hours Selvetarm smiled upon Iltzatar and he was victorious though he mourned the death of his brother he vowed to ensure one day his family would rise again.
Iltzatar served House Baenre as a loyal warrior for years while biding his time. He rose silently to the rank of Qu′el′saruk or the House Weapon master. Silently he gathered loyal supporters mostly males though even some females were swayed to his banner. Once he had gathered enough support he fled his captors slaughtering all that opposed him including the House Matron and her eldest daughter. Leaving the Underdark he and his followers went into exile.
Iltzatar and his followers travelled over the sea and founded landing in a cold and bitter icy land where the sun did not touch they forged their own domain. Delving deep below the land of Naggaroth they forged the Undercity of Aly′rilyntlar. After centuries of preparation and plotting the the Wytch King rose to power great dark towers tore up like a great hand ripping through the frozen land of Naggaroth five great towers like fingers that poured the Drow up into the Druchii homeland which they swiftly conquered and broke into submission. The largest of these towers tore up through the heart of the capitol city of Naggarond where once the Black Tower had stood of the former rulers now Obsidion Spire stands the seat of Drow Power in this frozen land.
Forged on the backs of slaves the Kingdom of Naggaroth was reforged.By blood and steel the former slave was crowned as King of not only the Drow but the now enslaved Druchii and from the shadows he forged a mighty dominion.
