Alexion is Ias, one of the original Dark-Hunters. Acheron tried to save him by giving a stone holding the man′s soul to his wife Liora. Ias′s soul was lost when she refused to bring him back to life because she was really in love with another man. He became a Shade and was cursed to walk in between worlds until Acheron brought him back into a semi-alive state by using his blood.

He lives in Katoteros, but travels to the human realm to act as Acheron′s judge, jury, and executioner when Dark-Hunters get out of line. He takes his duties seriously, as he doesn′t want to condemn anyone unnecessarily to the same fate he experienced as a Shade. During one of his investigations, he met and fell in love with Danger, who was subsequently killed by Stryker. Acheron also brought her to live with them in Katoteros.  Simi′s sister Xirena is bonded to him as a dragon tattoo on him.  He has no room for a love in his life ever again.

SHADES
   
A Shade is similar to a ghost. Cursed to roam in between worlds forever, they have no body to return to. A Shade is said to be a punishment worse than death. When Dark-Hunters die they become Shades. It′s something all hunters fear. Little do they know, that when they do become Shades, Acheron leads them to the afterlife.

The Dark-Hunters are created from ancient warriors who have been wronged. They come from all walks of life and all cultures. Some are human, some are Apollites, Were-Hunters and even gods. Whenever someone is wronged and dying from an act of betrayal or brutal treachery, their soul makes a scream that echoes through the mountains of Olympus. When Artemis hears that sound, she goes to the one who made it and makes a pact. For a single Act of Vengeance against the ones who wronged the dying party, they will swear their fealty to her service and will spend the rest of eternity hunting down and slaying the Daimon menace. Because each Dark-Hunter is so different, so are their powers. Their psychic abilities and physical powers hinge on what they were in their lives. A Dark-Hunter who was a general who could easily predict an enemy might now have mind reading. The only thing the Dark-Hunters have in common is that they all have fangs, and almost all of them have black eyes. They also have a bow-and-arrow mark on the spot where Artemis took their souls.
