Origin: Bherjuba (Ancient Germany)
Family: Raithwall Zeromus (Father, deceased), Zalera Zeromus (Mother, deceased), Juda Zeromus (Older Brother, deceased), Skylar Zeromus (Younger Brother), Exodus Zeromus (Grandfather, deceased).
Bio
Vincent was a prince of the royal family and rulers of the ancient german city of Bherjuba. Founded by his grandfather, Bherjuba was a prosperous city. Grand and powerful, it's people lived in harmony and businesses flourished. Crops yielded every harvest year. Vincent's older brother, Juda, was Bherjubas finest Commander in it's military. A true warrior, undefeated in combat, led many conquests and lead Bherjuba to victory in many aspects. The downfall of Bherjuba and it's people began when the King, Raithwall, fell gravely ill and passed away. A group of traveling mystics were passing through at the time of his death. Rumor and superstition began to spread through the townsfolk that the mystics were responsible for the Kings death. Juda, now King, sentenced the all the mystics to death after capturing one of them of stealing food from the markets. Juda began a major military march in a conquest to further expand Bherjuba and it's influence. King Juda, thought to be unrivaled on the battlefield, was killed in war, ending the conquest. Vincent's mother, Zalera fell ill and died soon after. Panic surged through the city as townsfolk began to believe the mystics had cursed their city. Vincent went to the royal sorcerers and consulted with them. Believing the only way to save Vincent and his brother, Skylar, was to cast a last resort spell to put them to sleep. This would halt their age, health, perfectly preserving them until an unspecified time in which to wake. As the ritual was cast, one of the sorcerers secretly blamed the royal Zeromus family and tainted the spell, resulting in the brothers being sent in their sleep to the In Between. As they slept, their city fell to ruins as the chaos and panic essentially had the people destroy themselves. Ages and ages would pass before Vincent woke from his ritualistic coma. He now navigates the modern world, younger brother still asleep, until Vincent can discover a way to wake him.
The In Between
The realm the Bherjubans believed to be Purgatory. The Zeromus brothers were saved from the afterlife final destinations of Heaven or Hell, but due to the tampering of the ritual, they were trapped in the In Between. A pocket realm where souls without a destination in the afterlife are condemned to wander aimlessly. It is believed that souls belonging to the In Between were rejected from Hell, but also denied entry into Heaven. The Zeromus were sent here, but without never truly dying, they were altered and changed, given abilities and powers originating straight from the In Between.
Powers
Vincent's otherworldly power is essentially borrowed from the realm of the In Between. Having been altered, he had gained ethereal powers. Able to move as a wraith. Pass through objects. Superhuman strength of Purgatory. A side effect of his evolution is the subtle energy that forever flows through him, causing his once blue eyes to change and glow a bright violet hues. In such cases, Vincent can muster up his strength and borrow the very essence and energy of the purgatory realm, allowing him to fire bolts and blasts of destructive, spectral force. His younger brother, Skylar, was granted the very fire of the In Between. Able to spiritual burn with the white hot flames of Purgatory, Skylar can scorch with fires hotter than any mortal flame.
Weaknesses
Vincent isn't without limitations. Due to his human nature, he cannot wield the true essence of the In Between. He isn't truly dead, therefore he isn't a true native of the realm. Not alive, but not dead either, all of his ethereal abilities can only be used for so long before having to enter a recharge or cooldown state. The In Between wants the Zeromus souls. Using their powers more than what they are allowed to runs the risk of their souls being forcefully ripped from their bodies to join the In Between forever.
